The Brazilian Society of Naval Engineering – SOBENA will realize the 28th International Congress on Waterborne Transportation, Shipbuilding and Offshore Constructions from October 26 to October 29, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This year, SOBENA adopted an innovative multiplatform format, with new contents and programs for parallel events.

The main objective of the congress is to foster the dissemination of research and technological studies for the development of an efficient marine and offshore transportation system, including discussions on national shipbuilding.

The event will have technical sessions with presentation of technical papers, panels of debates on topics more relevant of the current scenario, with the participation of academics, researchers and experts of the sector as well as selected conferences presented by renowned technicians and national and international researchers.

The SOBENA congress is the ideal forum for researchers, engineers, managers, technicians and students from the scientific and industrial communities to:

• Meet and present advances in technology and its scientific support;
• Exchange ideas and experiences whilst promoting technological progress and its application in industry, and
• Promote international cooperation in marine, ocean and offshore engineering.

Following on the tradition of excellence of previous SOBENA conferences, more than 100 technical papers are planned for presentation.

We will have a week of event with the panels and themes already foreseen in this congress so important for SOBENA, the accepted and selected papers will be discussed in virtual rooms.
